Privacy at Basket

Last updated 7 September 2026

Basket is a shared household shopping-list app. We collect only the information needed to keep your lists in sync and help the people you invite shop together.

Information Basket stores

If you scan a barcode, the barcode may be sent to Open Food Facts to look up public product information. Basket does not send your shopping-list item names to advertising or analytics services.

How information is used

We use this information to provide shared lists, history, invitations, recovery and sync. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for targeted advertising.

Who can see it

People in a household can see that household’s list, history and member names. Supabase provides Basket’s hosted database and authentication infrastructure. Expo provides build and app-delivery infrastructure.

Retention and deletion

You can delete your account in Basket under Settings → Delete account. Your identity and memberships are removed. A private household with nobody else in it is deleted. Shared list items and history remain available to other household members, but your name is removed from their attribution.

Your choices

You can decline notifications, use Basket without adding a recovery method, leave shared households and delete your account in the app. For deletion instructions, see Account deletion.
